Hanging out with chickens and harvesting honey at Stepney City Farm in London’s East End

I love Stepney City Farm partly because they have had to overcome so much adversity. Crossrail have cut right across their land and made a complete mess of the whole area. However, they haven’t let this get them down and, if anything, have become more creative than ever. With allotments, natural beehives and a little tearoom serving fresh farm brews and nibbles, they are developing a fantastic, interactive farm for the local community.

I love heading down there and hanging out with the chickens, buying some fresh eggs and helping to clean out the goats and pigs with my niece. Every time, the dedicated staff have gone out of their way to make the experience a lovely one for me, my friends and family. I can’t recommend a lovelier place to buy fresh locally grown produce, and the honey was recently harvested so be sure to head down there and get some while stocks last!

TiKK Top Tip! Look out for Simon White who will answer any of your questions and assist your visit beyond the call of duty.
